Overall, the 2019 conference provided a very positive and worthwhile experience for delegates within the disability sector, including staff and the hosting venues and suppliers. Crown was a very accommodating venue and the space fulfilled the 2019 requirements nicely.
Disability Employment Australia’s Conference was held at the end of August 2019 at Crown, Perth. The conference was held over two full days, and included a welcome event and a Gala Dinner which incorporated the 2019 Hall of Fame Awards.
The conference targeted practitioners, managers and academics working within the Disability Employment Services sector. The 2019 event welcomed a total of 273 delegates.
Registration, involving full website and registration site creation and design, including updates, amendments and payment processing. Accommodation management, including delegate correspondence, provision of rooming lists to hotels, daily communication of accommodation lists. Full budget management.
With the information provided by DEA, Conference Works liaised with speakers, booked accommodation, arranged flights and transfers where needed, updated the conference venue budget and accommodation information for guests and staff.
Conference Works assisted in the selling of exhibition stands to previous exhibitors and liaised with sponsors for the 2019 conference, continuing on from the previous years. In addition, Conference Works assisted DEA with reaching out and finding new businesses to partner with.
Networking event venues were inspected by Conference Works, and options were presented to DEA. Networking events included entertainment, ticketing, appropriate beverage and menu packages, and accessibility requirements.
